Cloud Engineer
FMG is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud and Security team.
This role can be based in either Wellington or Palmerston North, with possible travel required between the two.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Engineer at FMG involves guiding, implementing, optimising, securing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions in collaboration with internal teams and external partners. You will have a proactive, security-first mindset, strong communication skills, and enjoy working within a highly collaborative team. with the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Creation, auditing and enforcement of platform standards and policies.
- High level Infrastructure deployment via IAC.
- Maintenance and optimisation of Core Services.
- Platform Engineering support and general advice and guidance for requestors.
- Cost Management and Reporting.
- Integrating solutions with other workloads, platforms or services.
- Feedback and Technical design of proposed architectural solutions.
Experience and Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will ideally have extensive knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Microsoft Azure and Related services. (Entra, Policy, IaaS, Automation, AI Foundry etc)
- Governance and Identity.
- Cloud Security and Related standards.
- IaC. (Terraform)
- GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Networking. (DNS, VNET, NSGs etc)
- General Cloud Concepts and use cases. (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, CICD etc.)
- Creating and maintaining documentation.
- Knowledge in application development practices.
- Agile working methodology.
