The Role

We’re looking for a Client Proposition Manager to define, develop and deliver sector and segment playbooks that support FMG’s long-term growth aspirations and align with our mutual strategies. You’ll lead the development and delivery of Client Proposition Playbooks and use your influencing skills to mobilise teams across the business to act—bringing together data, insight and on-the-ground intel to shape and challenge proposition direction.

In this role you will provide leadership and drive the improvement of FMG's Client Propositions across all segments to help contribute to the Mutual's strategic goals in the short, medium and long term and deliver on the strategic ambitions for agreed target markets.

This role also provides leadership and direction to our Proposition Leads.

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive the development and implementation of FMG’s Client Proposition Playbooks across segments.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to shape and deliver annual business plans and growth initiatives.
  • Lead the development of new and enhanced propositions to support acquisition, retention and deeper relationships (supported by Proposition Leads).
  • Build and proactively manage key industry and partner relationships, including contact plans at strategic and operational levels.
  • Use insights to develop client personas, identify opportunities, and monitor performance against growth and profitability targets.
  • Provide people leadership to your direct reports through coaching, performance management and capability development.
  • Represent FMG in rural communities and at industry events, bringing market intel back into the business (travel will be required).

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 5+ years’ experience in product/proposition management, agribusiness, or a commercial role (ideally within financial services).
  • Proven ability to navigate complex data, extract insights and turn them into practical strategies and plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, collaborate and drive action across teams.
  • Confident communicator—able to write clear, concise and persuasive proposals, playbooks and reports.
  • A strong networker who enjoys building relationships internally and externally.
  • Understanding of the rural community and/or insurance sector, with a genuine interest in supporting rural New Zealand.
